The librarian at a student’s school may want to discuss how to acquire books for a student who reads braille or large print, how to provide for a student who reads braille during a school book fair, how to label books or shelving, or how to include a student who is visually impaired in library classes.

  • The librarian may contact the MSB school librarian, Mike McQueen, by calling 314-633-1566 or through email at Mike.McQueen@msb.dese.mo.gov to ask questions, get suggestions, or to receive a list of library resources for large print and braille books.
  • School librarians who work with students with visual impairments may also want to visit the Missouri School for the Blind Library Media Center to see how it is arranged or labeled.
