Track and Field

Two MSB athletes, Brittany Davis and David Brown, set NCASB records and the girls and boys track teams placed second and third, respectively, at the conference track meet held in October, 2010.    Brittany set a new NCASB conference Class A record in girls’shotput, with a toss of 20 ft. 2 inches.  David’s jump of 29 ft. 2 inches in the Class A 3-con jump was also a new conference record, and he came within 1/2 inch of setting another record - this one in the long jump.

Additional female gold medal winners were:  Amanda Drake, shot put, 600m run; Tabitha Jenkins, triple jump, 3 con, high jump, 60m dash; Carolyn McGhee, long jump.  Additional male gold medal winners were:
David Brown, long jump, 3 con, 60m dash, triple jump; Trevon Graves, shotput, long jump, high jump; Ellaun Williams, triple jump.

Missouri School for the Blind had traditionally had very successful track teams – winning conference four consecutive years from 2000 to 2004.  In 2004, Adnan Gutic, pictured below in center, was voted Outstanding Male Athlete by NCASB conference coaches.
