A separate room in the Library Media Center houses a large collection of professional materials including books, journals, kits and DVDs. The emphasis of the Professional Library is on education, especially the education of students who are blind or have other disabilities such as deafness or autism.

All Missouri teachers, special education teachers, related service providers and parents may borrow materials from the Professional Library.

Parents and guardians of current MSB students may also check out materials from the Professional Library that pertain to their child’s education, visual impairment or other disability.  To see a listing of Professional Library materials that may be of interest to a parent of a child who is blind or visually impaired, go to the MSB online catalog, at http://msb.follettdestiny.com. Click on “Missouri School for the Blind”.  Next click on “Resource Lists” on the left, then on “Public Lists” on the right, then select “Parent Materials” from the list.  By clicking on individual titles you can find out more about them.

Professionals at local education agencies around the state of Missouri who work with students with visual impairments may borrow certain professional materials from the Professional Development Lending Library. For more information, click here: Professional Development Lending Library
