Contributions to MSB

Thank You - Your gracious gifts help provide each student at Missouri School for the Blind with the tools, skills and training necessary to give them confidence that anything they choose to do is possible.  We thank you for your support.  You can contribute to MSB student success in many ways:

  • Financial gifts
  • Memorials to loved ones
  • Bequests
  • Special programs:
    • The Giving Tree-Christmas holiday drive to provide clothing and gifts to our students.
    • Assistance with events such as Braille Challenge, Regional Coalition for Experiential Education (RCEE) and school-sponsored sports events.

Your financial gifts to MSB are tax-deductible and can be applied to specific programs, services or funds (dedicated gifts), or to the MSB activity fund (unrestricted gifts), which is used primarily for student co-curricular activities.  Please make checks payable to “Missouri School for the Blind” and send to MSB, ATTN:  Supt. Patricia Yocum.  We are sorry, but MSB is unable to accept gifts of real estate or motor vehicles.

Missouri School for the Blind has established The Giving Tree to ensure that all MSB students have the basic necessities, such as clothing, shoes, books and toys. Staff has compiled a list of needed items and asks parents, community and service organizations and corporations to help them provide a happy holiday for MSB students.

You can help a blind or visually-impaired student have a memorable holiday by donating new clothing, shoes, books or toys, or by sending a financial donation to the school. For more information, call Community Relations at 314-776-4320, ext. 1135.

Volunteer Service

Missouri School for the Blind welcomes volunteer assistance and serves as a site for community service for numerous local high schools, colleges and corporations.  Opportunities are available during the school day to work with students or at occasional evening or weekend events.  Additional opportunities are available that do not involve student interaction, such as painting, yardwork and miscellaneous clean-up.  Volunteers who work with MSB students must be 16 years of age or older and are subject to a background check.  For more information about MSB’s volunteer program please contact the Community Relations Office, 314-776-4320, ext. 1135, or e-mail
